MEET ONE OF EARTH'S NEWEST VISITORS FROM OUTER SPACE AND MOST RECENT ARRIVAL IN THE UNITED STATES

THE BUZZARD COULEE, CANADA METEORITE
Buzzard Coulee is one of the newest extraterrestrial visitors to our planet. On November 20, 2008 a massive fireball lit up the evening skies along the Alberta/Saskatchewan border of Canada. A determined search produced stone meteorites near the small town of Lone Rock, Saskatchewan, about three hours drive east of Edmonton. The first pieces were recovered a week after the fall by a University of Calgary team, frozen into a small lake in a ravine named Buzzard Coulee, and the new H4 chondrite got its name. Soon after, snow began to fall across the strewn field, and the newly arrived meteorites remained buried through the long Canadian winter.

In late April 2009, as the snows began to thaw, I had the opportunity to visit the strewnfield. My friend Lisa Marie Morrison joined me on the Buzzard Coulee meteorite expedition. And time was short: we had a narrow window of opportunity between the spring thaw and spring planting. The strewnfield lies among large farms, and once the ground had been turned over by tractors the stone meteorites would be lost forever. We were quiet happy to have been able to rescue a number of these visitors.

In order to remove meteorites from Canada, official export papers must be obtained. We have finally obtained those permits and the first Buzzard Coulee meteorites to be legally available in the United States are here. All of our Buzzard Coulee specimens have 100% legal export papers.

Each of our authentic Buzzard Coulee specimens will be accompanied by the following:

- A full color copy of the official Canadian export permit

- An individual hand-made specimen identification card

- One full color 8 x 10 exclusive signed color photograph of Lisa Marie, Geoffrey Notkin with one of his finds, or a panoramic view of the Buzzard Coulee strewnfield (your choice). They are the three photos seen on this page

- The original field bag with field notes
